Though this Centre was opened one year ago, our Association, "Alberta
Buddhist Vihara Association" has now reached its 25th Anniversary.
We have done a lot to keep our heads above water during this time.
However, there is much more to be done for the benefit of the many in this society.

STATEMENT
The Samatha-Vipassana
Meditation Centre, Edmonton, Canada, was established as an affiliated institution
of Alberta Buddhist Vihara Association (ABVA) with the intention of preserving
the 'Original Teachings of the Buddha and Buddhist Meditation' within the
context of Western culture.

Bhikkhu Seelananda
Bhikkhu Talgaswewe Seelananda is the Abbot Monk in Residence at the Samatha Vipassana
Meditation Centre in Edmonton. He will serve as the spiritual leader.
